Less is More - BLING!!
OMG!! I can't believe that the lovely lady LIMettes at Less is More have allowed us to use BLING this week. My daughter says I'm the bling queen because I bling everything I can - tee shirts, jeans tops as well as putting sparkly bits wherever I can on cards.
So today I hope I'm allowed this much bling and sparkle. My usual 5inch square base card - white - with a die cut Christmas tree. I cut this in green glitter foam to give sparkle (of course) and a bit of dimension. Then I added some glitter to parts of the tree and a tiny star shaped gem on the top. The lines at the base of the card are double sided tape with glitter sprinkled on. No sentiment needed - it's obviously a Christmas card!
I've had another busy week getting the vintage style china ready for Libbie's wedding so not had enough time to visit as many blogs as I wanted to - so apologies for that. Many thanks for all the kind comments left for me last week - they are very much appreciated.
That's it for now, I may be back with another later.

Less is More - Silhouettes
Very quick post today, we have visitors this evening and I need to do some baking. I immediately thought of this lampost when I saw the theme for this week at Less is More - Silhouettes. Even after 41 years my OH really does light up my life (yeh, I know it's sloppy!!).
Changing from my usual base, this week it's C6 but cut lengthways so it opens at the top. White linen card, silhouette cut in black pearlised card and the sentiment was generated in Publisher and printed. I might add abit of bling to the 'rays' later. Not sure about that yet though.
That's it for now, my kitchen is calling. Many, many thanks for all the lovely comments last week. I managed to visit a few blogs, not as many as I would have liked, but maybe this week I'll have a little more spare time (says she laughing).
And thanks again to Mandi and Chrissie for yet another inspired theme.

Less is More - One layer - LEAVES
So over at Less is More this week it's the dreaded (for me, anyway) one layer and it's LEAVES. Well it's Autumn so leaves are very topical especially if you were to take a look at my garden - they're everywhere!! Hopefully if it's a nice day tomorrow (as promised by the weathermen) I shall have time to rake them up. I find there's something very satisfying about raking up leaves - sad,eh?!!
I spent yesterday morning clearing my daughter's garden of leaves from their HUGE magnolia tree and collecting 4 large sacks of them. Just think of all that lovely compost next year!
But I digress. I decided on holly for Christmas instead of autumn leaves. My card this week is a 5 inch scalloped square (no change there then) and I printed a holly wreath - very simple one from clip art in Publisher. I'm planning a stamped one with the same idea but that's for later. I've already done this design with die cut holly leaves but that's NOT ALLOWED this week!
Coloured in with Promarkers and sentiment printed in the centre of the wreath. Off to make porridge for breakfast now. Hopefully see you again.
Thanks for all the lovely comments last week and hope to visit more of you this week if time and wedding stuff allow!

Less is More - Red and Orange
Driving back along the motorway from Leicestershire this afternoon I was amazed at the colours of the trees - fantastic reds, oranges, yellows, greens and browns. I'd been with Libbie to have the alterations fitting for her beautiful wedding dress so was probably in a bit of a romantic mood anyway! Then when I got home and checked with the Less is More challenge blog I couldn't believe that this week's challenge was Red and Orange.
I knew I had this rainbow card somewhere and after a frenzied search found it - just perfect.I'm not confident enough with stamping to have actually done this background with inks. I die cut the flower heads in black and they reminded me of sparklers which led me to my little bit of bling - 3 tiny black pearls. Base card is a 5inch square white pearl card which I bought at the NEC yesterday. I had a wonderful 6 hours there and bought loads of things - none of which I NEEDED but I wanted!!! The second card I made was actually my first idea (with a tree) but then when I checked the entries, Birgit had already done one with a twiggy tree (which is far better than my effort) so I didn't want to copy her idea. But I'll put the photo on so you can see it.
I die cut two trees, one in silver and one in black and mounted one on top of the other to give a shadow effect.
The sentiment was printed on the computer for both cards. Thanks for all the lovely comments last week. Sorry I didn't get round to many blogs but I've had a hectic week and not been in for a single day. Let's hope that this week is quieter - though with the wedding getting closer I doubt it will be!
