Well, it looks very odd doesn't it? This was our Father's Day lunch that Libbie and Stuart cooked yesterday. We had a great day and picked Stu's mom and dad up at about half past ten. Lunch was a 'fishy' one! Stu bbq'd asparagus for starters followed by monkfish and ciabatta kebabs.Mmmm, yummy. Then the 'piece de resistance' was the whole salmon wrapped in herbs and then cooked in wet newspaper. Apparently a Jamie Oliver way of doing things! It was delicious and Libbie served it with baby potatoes, salad and lots of dips and sauces. After some time to recover we had home cooked (none of your 'shop bought' in this house!) rhubarb crumble and ice cream. And all accompanied by champagne and wine. Defnitely a Father's Day to remember for the dad's (and moms!)....and this is what it looked like when it was cooked!Even the weather was on our side and the sun shone all day long.
It looks like it's going to be another lovely sunny day here so I think I'm off into the garden to enjoy 'the fruits of my labours'.

Had a lovely day with Libbie yesterday - wedding plans and some crafting too! She wanted some 'designer' cupcake wrappers for the delicious cupcakes that she makes so we had a play on the Cricut. She was amazed at how easy it is and how quick! We went to see a close of friend of hers who has a baby -12 weeks old and I had a 'cuddle'. Lovely to hold a baby again , but lovely to be able to hand her back when she needed feeding!! The joys of motherhood!

Today was boring house work but now I’m going out into my garden – hubby has mowed the lawns and tidied up so I get to do the nice things like planting.

Well after a really horrible start to my week , I had a lovely morning enjoying a coffee with two school friends, whom I met up with last year after a 47 year gap. We'd lost touch after leaving school and all going our separate ways , but got together again about 10 months ago. It was as though we'd just left school again and now we share each others ups and downs in life.
Tomorrow my lovely daughter is coming home for the day and we plan to have a "really girlie" day - maybe talking about her wedding plans or making cupcakes - who knows?
This is one of the few photos I have of Libbie and Stuart!Think it was taken in Cornwall last year.
Now I'm going to do a bit of sewing and then maybe some card making ...........

Just thought I'd put a photo of my cat (Lottie) on here. She's the only cat we now have - the other 3 have gone to the big cattery in the sky. Lottie is a pretty tortoiseshell (well we think she's pretty!) who is almost 14 years old. Since the demise of Elmo (a handsome ginger tom) she's become very friendly and extremely talkative and we often have quite long chats - but she always has the last word! And usually some tuna too to keep her quiet! As you can probably tell she is very indulged.Well I'm off to bed now and no doubt Lottie will come and lie under my chin for most of the night!!

Been designing some cupcake wrappers for Libbie tonight. She wants them to look like grass so that she can make cupcakes with a football theme! Oh, the things we do for our children eh?(Though I did have fun playing) I definitely think that the last one with the thicker grass looks better so I shall go with that one. Just hope I get to try one of the cakes when they're made!
