Had workmen in today replacing several windows so I've only had chance to make one card. Oh and I did spend quite a lot of time on my PC!!Anyway, here's the card, cut mainly on the Cricut. I wonder now, how I managed without it and SCAL.

Thought I'd show a pic of some cupcakes that I made for a friend's birthday too. Not brilliant - think I need lots more practice at icing. Trouble is, I like to eat the samples!

Flowers and butterflies

I haven't
'blogged' for about a year but I decided I'd start again! Just three of the cards I've made recently - as you can see I love flowers - both on cards and in the garden!

Gardeners' World Show at the NEC

I had a wonderful visit to The Gardeners' World Show at the NEC last week and saw some amazing flowers, garden and displays.

A new style of card that I made a few weeks ago but couldn't post on here because one of them was for Sandra's birthday and I didn't want her to see it before the day! They're called exploding flowers and I got the idea from a clever crafter on the Docrafts forum. Each layer folds down and the last petal tucks into the first one. When completely folded the card looks like a pentagon with a hole in the middle where you can see the centres of all the layers.
The first two are made with K and Co double sided papers and the third one (this is the birthday one) was actually the first one that I made and it's single sided papers glued together. They're really easy to make and look very effective don't they?!
I took these photos when I discovered the super macro setting on my camera (which I have to admit I have had for a year now!) The lilac I found lying on the lawn after it had been blown down during the night. The clematis is growing against the wall at the back of the house.

I think I may use them for cards at some time in the future.

The other 'big thing' is 'word cards'. Printed template in Microsoft Word and then cut out in fancy card and embellished.
