Less is More - 'Things that Move'

At last I'm able to make a card and blog again - seems ages since I had the time to do either - with holidays and visitors and wedding things to sort out, all getting in the way! Well holidays are over , my last visitor is here (my son has come over from Spain ) and Libbie's beautiful wedding dress is hanging in the spare bedroom. The men have been measured and wedding suits are sorted. So it's ME time!
This week's card theme is 'Things that move' over at Less is More.
A few weeks ago I had a phase of making flowers using the 'Paper Bouquet' book by Susan Tierney Cockburn - it's brilliant! This is my attempt at a clematis. (We've got several clematis growing on the back wall of the house and I've planted one growing up each of the trees in the garden too. They add a lovely bit of colour when the blossom has finished.) All the flowers in the book are made using punches. The cutouts are coloured and moulded into shape and the effect is quite realistic.
So this one was lightly coloured with Promarkers, sprayed with a Cosmic Shimmer Mist and then left to dry. The leaves were just tinted on the edges. Centre is made by cutting the petals of the punch outs into tiny strips and, again, coloured  with Promarkers. The dragonfly ('thing that moves') is a brad I've had for ages - not sure where it came from.
Base card is a very pale peach colour , which doesn't really show up on the photo. I'm going to have to get my son to show me with his brilliant photo skills how to take better pics while he's here!
Thanks to Mandi for emailing last week to say that I could use ink pads but even though I tried lots of times times I couldn't make a card I was really happy with, as my waste bin would testify!
And now I can post this . We've had an i/net and telephone problem for the last two days and I feel like I've been cut off from the world but now we're back on!!!!WooHoo!
Close up of clematis and dragonfly.
